Roy D. "Donnie" House, 77, of Quaker City, died Thursday (December 10, 2015) at his home. He was born December 5, 1938 in Batesville, son of the late Sylvester R. House and Alma Pearl (Wyscarver) House. Mr. House was self-employed in the logging industry. He was a 1956 graduate of Batesville High School and a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Batesville American Legion Post and the Batesville Sportsmen's Club, where he had served as a trustee. Mr. House was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey House; and two grandchildren, James Michael House and Jeffrey Alan House. He is survived by his wife, Dixie E. (Baker) House, whom he married January 23, 1960; two daughters, Shelly (& Ken) Lucas of Quaker City and Melanie Ann (& Burt) Doudna of Quaker City; a sister, Carol White of Columbus; four grandchildren, Brandi (& Todd) Eagon, Justin (& Mallory) Doudna, Brad (& Candace) House, and Alicia (& Craig) Carpenter; eleven great-grandchildren; and his dog, Pickle. Private services were held for the family. Burial followed at Batesville Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Genesis Cancer Care Center, 2951 Maple Avenue, Zanesville OH 43701.
