Roy "Neil" Starr, 52, of Quaker City, died Wednesday (July 9, 2008) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 20, 1956 in Belmont County, son of the late Rodney Starr and Florence Gertrude (Betts) Starr. Mr. Starr was a self-employed construction contractor. He was a graduate of Zane Trace High School. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was an avid sports fan, with his favorite teams being The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Starr. He leaves three brothers, Franklin (& JoEllen) Starr of Cambridge, Roger (& Gloria) Starr of Cambridge and David Starr of Quaker City; his former wife, Faye Starr of Columbus; several nieces and nephews living in Wyoming & Pittsburgh; and several cousins. Family and friends may call on Monday (July 14, 2008) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will follow at 12 p.m. with Evang. Flavil Miller officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
