Russell E. Girts

Russell E. Girts, 78, of Salesville, died Monday (October 12, 2015) at his home. He was born June 19, 1937 in Centerville, son of the late Clinton Girts and Dorothy (Goodin) Girts. Mr. Girts had worked as a janitor at Gahanna Schools for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Pastva) Girts; and a daughter, Cheryl Fairbanks. He is survived by a son, Russell Girts II of Salesville; a daughter, Tamara (& Andy) McKnight of Columbus; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday (October 16, 2015) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
