Ruth Ellen Baier

Ruth Ellen Baier, 77, of Cambridge, went to her heavenly home on March 28, 2010 surrounded by her family whom she dearly loved, after a lengthy illness and a short battle with cancer. She was born March 7, 1933, daughter of the late Fred and Edna Huff. Ruth's passions were her husband (the love of her life), her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her church, music and helping others in need. She touched many lives during her lifetime. Her quick wit and infectious grin could melt your heart and make you laugh at any time. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille (Huff) Pritt, Wilma (Huff) Harris and Velma (Huff) Mayors; and brothers, Harold, Orrville, Bobby and Billy Huff. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Herb; Her children: Gail Mancuso and her husband, Spike, of Sharpsville PA and grandsons, Keith and Tony; Dale Baier and his wife, Beth, of Byesville and grandson, Josh (& Ashlie), great-grandson, Damon, and great-granddaughter, Carlie; and granddaughter, Jenna (& Corey) Hill, great-grandsons, Bode and Gunner; Cathy Hawkins and her husband, Randy, of Old Washington, granddaughter, Rissa Hawkins and great-granddaughters, Kylie and Madilynn; and granddaughter, Nicole (& Travis) Stevens; Bob Baier and his wife, Kathie, of Reynoldsburg, grandson Rob (& fiancée, Tawnya Storino) and granddaughter, Stacey; Cheryl Taylor and her husband, Danny, of Lore City, grandson Chad (& fiancée, Sarah Stallings), and granddaughters, Chelsea (& Jake) Townsend and Ashton; Deb Hill, wife of the late Phillip Hill, of Dublin, grandson Tayler, step-grandson, Charlie, step-granddaughter, Andrea, and great-granddaughter, Bella. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Huff and his wife, Dixie, of Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Thursday (April 1, 2010) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations in memory of Ruth: 1) Guernsey County Cancer Society, 927 E Wheeling Ave, Suite 205, Cambridge OH 43725 or 2) The First Church of the Nazarene, 530 Madison Ave, Cambridge OH 43725.
