Ruth C. Mccormick

Ruth C. McCormick, 84, of Salesville, died Sunday (August 28, 2011) at her home. She was born October 17, 1926 in Wayne Township/Noble County, daughter of the late Fred B. Long and Mae (Vance) Long. She married Clarence H. McCormick on April 10, 1954. Mrs. McCormick was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working on the farm, and cooking. She was a 1946 graduate of Quaker City High School. She was a member of the Salesville United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. McCormick, whom who died October 26, 1986; a brother, Omar Long; and a sister, Mary Stephens. She is survived by two sons, Clarence R. (& Cindy) McCormick of Salesville and David H. (& Sandy) McCormick of Salesville; four grandchildren, Karla (& Jerry) Kerns, Kenneth (& Jessica) Leek, Kayla McCormick, and Nathan McCormick; two great-grandchildren, Abbie Kerns and Jacob Leek; several nieces & nephews; and four special care-takers, Ruby Hannahs, Linda Hartley, Terida Williams, and Alicia Miracle. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held on Thursday (September 1, 2011) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
