Sally L. (Mcintyre) Mcelroy

September 25, 1933 — February 13, 2014

Sally L. (McIntyre) McElroy, 80, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully Thursday (February 13, 2014) at Kindred Nursing & Rehabilitation – Cambridge, surrounded by her family.

She was born September 25, 1933 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Delbert "Shorty" McIntyre and Thelma (Wilson) McIntyre.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was known as "Grandma Sally" to all the neighborhood children.

She was a member of the Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God, Cambridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McElroy, who died November 5, 1985; four sisters, Sandra McIntire, Priscilla McHenry, Nancy Galbreath, and Barbara Fabian; and a daughter, Linda Buckius.

She was loved and will be missed by her family: a daughter, Pam (& Jeff) Earley of Cambridge; a step-son, Ronnie (& Raylene) McElroy of Bloomingdale; six grandsons, Bob Buckius, Scott Buckius, Mike Buckius, Kyle Earley, Bryan Earley, and Jeff Earley Jr. all of Cambridge; four step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol LaFollette of Cambridge; two brothers, Chuck (& Cathy) McIntire of Byesville and John McIntyre of Cambridge; a very special niece whom she raised, Cindi (& Bill) Quarles of Cambridge; several other nieces and nephews; and her church family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday (February 19, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Martin Hennessy officiating.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
