Samuel P. Steele

Samuel P. Steele, 74, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (July 23, 2019) at Southeastern Med.

He was born October 10, 1944 in Cambridge, son of the late Charles Steele and Zelma (Stevens) Steele.

Mr. Steele was self-employed in the construction industry.

He was an avid follower of the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State University Buckeyes, and NASCAR – especially Dale Sr. and Dale Jr.

He was Christian by faith.

Mr. Steele was a US Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Moseley) Steele; a brother, Lester Steele; and a sister, Kay Steele.

He is survived by three sons, Chance (& Wendy) Steele of Zanesville, Doug Steele (& Jacqueline Dyer) of Byesville, and Anthony Steele of Cambridge; four daughters, Tammy (& Ron) Parry of Cambridge, Robyn Allen of Tucson AZ, Kristen (& Troy) Boyd of Nashport, and Billie Jo Steele of Zanesville; three sisters, Dorothy Heskett of Cambridge, Betty Tyo of Zanesville, and Phyllis Hackley of Cambridge; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday (August 2, 2019) at Northwood Cemetery , Cambridge, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
