Sandra Jean (Cherok) Simonson

Sandra Jean Simonson, 79, of Cambridge passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Cambridge Place.

Sandra was born in Barberton, Ohio on June 15, 1944, a daughter to the late Joe and Esther (Huffman) Cherok.

Sandra graduated from Barberton High School and then got her LPN from Belmont Technical Community College. She then worked as a nurse for over 30 years. She was a member of the Salesville Church of Faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Robert Simonson whom she married January 25, 1964, and who passed April 17, 2002; her brother, Paul Cherok; her step- daughter Ruth Hannum; and her granddaughter, Billie Jo.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (& Michelle) Simonson of Dover, Brian (& Laurie) Simonson of Manchester, and Joe (& Laura) Simonson of Salesville; her step- daughters, Marie (& Warren) Yoder of Canton, and Donna Simonson of Grove City; her brothers, John (Mari) Cherok of Barberton, Jim (& Michelle) Cherok of Akron, and Larry Cherok of Wadsworth; and her sister, Judy (& Larry) Jacobs of Barberton. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Joshua, Autumn, Scott Jr, Parker, Joanna, Timothy, Brian Jr, Christopher, Stephen, Ian, Michael, Tyler, and Annie; and many great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Salesville Church of Faith on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 11AM till the time of the service at 1PM. Pastor Perry Baranich will officiate. Burial will follow at Salesville Methodist Cemetery.
