Sarah Jane Cater, 90, of Cambridge, died Thursday (February 2, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.
She was born July 30, 1926 in London OH, daughter of the late Charles Weese and Helen (Kelly) Weese.
Mrs. Cater retired in 1984 after twenty-eight years as a silk screener at the former RCA and NCR.
Among her many memberships were the Kentucky Colonels, Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Ladies Auxiliary, and Guernsey County Senior Citizens. She was a great fan and supporter of the local Secret Santa program.
Mrs. Cater was Presbyterian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Max Dean Cater, who died January 20, 2001. They were married December 18, 1948. Also deceased are two sisters, Virginia and Rebecca; and four brothers, Robert, Carl, Donald, and Charles; and a son, Rick Cater.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Cater and Paul Cater both of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Cari Cater, Sarah Cater, Erin Cater, and Hannah Welch; and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden Davis and Lilleah Rae Dean Sparks.
Private visitation and funeral services were held for the family.
Burial followed at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge
