Scott J. Portnick, also known as "CB Guy," 49, of Quaker City, died July 26, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1964, in Berea, son of the late Sheldon Portnick and Diana Sternberg Portnick. Mr. Portnick was owner of Polar Bears CB shop in Quaker City. He attended Quaker City Baptist Church, and was an avid collector of several things including coins, stamps, baseball cards, Coca Cola items and Matchbox cars. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves his wife, Pamela (Nelson) Portnick of Quaker City; two daughters, Jacqueline (John) Adkins and Stephanie Portnick, both of Cambridge; a brother, Mark Portnick of Medina; two grandsons, Tate Portnick and John Adkins II; and his father-and motherin-law, Everette and Ola Nelson of Quaker City. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Floyd Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.
