Sharon Lee (Prouty) Walker

September 20, 1943 — August 31, 2010

Sharon Lee (Prouty) Walker, 66, of Cambridge, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (August 31, 2010) surrounded by her family. She had battled breast cancer for one year. She was born September 20, 1943 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William Ellis Prouty and Mary Jo (Snyder) Prouty. She retired after twenty-five years at Muskingum College, where she served as a secretary. She also worked in the public relations department and was a photographer for the college. She was best known as "Campus Mom". Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Cambridge High School and a graduate of the Columbus Business School. She was a member of the Cambridge Kiwanis and a member of the Ladies of the Moose. She was a past member of the Sweet Adelines. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Cambridge. She was always smiling, fun-loving and never met a stranger. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved everyone. She is survived by two sons, Don Paden of Columbus and Jeff (& Adrianne) Paden of Cambridge; a brother, Bob (& Karen) Prouty of Cambridge and their children Bethany Prouty Wayt of Hilliard and Bridgett Prouty McCutcheon of Springfield; a sister, Jo Arlene (& J. Robert) Taylor of Hilliard and their children Terri Taylor Botsko of Hilliard and Kevin Taylor of Powell; two grandsons, Derek Dean and Justin Lee; and her extended family, Tony Richardson of Columbus and his children, Brandon and Olivia; Butch and Crissy Smith of Lore City and their children, Ryan and Catie; and Kim and Ronnie Bates of Quaker City and their children, Nicole and Jamie; several nieces & nephews; her very close friend, Ralph Eynon of Cambridge; and her dog, Susie. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 500 S 7th Street, Cambridge, and also Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Keith Peachey officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Sharon's name to the Cambridge Little League Challengers, PO Box 1594, Cambridge OH 43725.
