Shelba J. Olney

Shelba J. (Callahan) Gregg Olney, 81, of Pleasant City, passed away Saturday (December 7, 2019) at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born March 3, 1938 in Pleasant City, a daughter of the late Glenn and Rose (Weaver) Callahan.

Shelba was a 1955 graduate of Buffalo High School. She retired from Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She had attended Harmony Christian Church.

Her home was the center of the family. Shelba enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She enjoyed her animals and also enjoyed square dancing.

In addition to her parents, Shelba was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles "Tom" Gregg and Donald D. Olney; a son, Randy W. Gregg; a daughter, Rhonda S. Gregg; a brother, Darold Callahan; and a sister, Betty Keith.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie L. Gregg of Pleasant City and Rick A. (Rhonda K.) Gregg of Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Randy (Heather) Gregg, Tom (Magaly) Gregg, Tammy (Aaron) Heflin, Kevin (Dionna Kay) Gregg, Brad (Kacee) Gregg, Tim (Amanda) Gregg, and Brandon Gregg; thirteen great-grandchildren, Alex (Molly) Gregg, Emilee Gregg, Eli Gregg, Nicholas Gregg, Andrew Gregg, Dylan Gregg, Ian Gregg, Isabella Gregg, Kaitlyn Heflin, Abby Gregg, Logan Gregg, Bradyn Gregg, and Mason Gregg; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Shelba is also survived by her close friend, Melvin Ball.

Visitation will be held Thursday (December 12, 2019) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Evang. Mark Beros officiating.

Burial will be at Harmony Christian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.
