Shelby J. Floyd, 82, of Quaker City, died Thursday (January 23, 2020) at her home.
She was born May 19, 1937 in Oak Hill WV, daughter of the late Matthew Duncan and Ludema (Ramsey) Duncan.
Mrs. Floyd had worked as a phone number registrar with Alltel Phone Company for many years. She had also worked at Hartley Hardware and Broughton Dairy.
She was a member of the Quaker City United Methodist Church and sang in the church's choir.
She was a very loyal friend and had a wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Duncan.
She is survived by her husband, Harry M. Floyd, whom she married July 6, 1957; a niece, Debbie Duncan; and three nephews, Robert Duncan, David (Jill) Carr, and Douglas (Karen) Carr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (January 29, 2020) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
