Shirley Jean German

Shirley Jean German, 82, of Cambridge passed away Wednesday (July 8, 2015) at Graystone Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 12, 1932 in Coal Ridge and was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Shernesky) Hronec. Shirley was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives, working crosswords, and word search puzzles. She was also a volunteer at SEORMC. In addition to her parents Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Daniel "Dan" J. German whom she married February 8, 1959 and passed away July 6, 2013; two brothers John and Andrew Hronec; three sisters, Julia, Susan and Mary. She is survived by one son Mike (Lonna) German of Cumberland; one daughter Jean (Vince) Bowers of North Pole, Alaska; six grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Niki (Jesse) Alford, Vincent, Christa and Amber ; two great grandchildren, Brady German and Addison Alford. Calling hours will be Monday (July 13th) from 5-8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Peter Reetz officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.
