Shirley Maxine Harrison

Shirley Maxine Harrison, 84 of Cambridge, died Sat. (May 12, 2007) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 25, 1922, in Cambridge, daughter of the late John F. Williams and Iva Pearl (Robertson) Williams. Mrs. Harrison retired after 26 years as an elementary school teacher, having served at Oakland and Madison elementary, and Cambridge Junior High School. She was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Chapter 28 Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary. She was a 1940 graduate of Cambridge High School and a 1944 graduate of Ohio Northern. She was preceded in death by a brother, John William Williams. She leaves her husband, Kenneth Harrison of the home, whom she married Dec. 16, 1945, a son, Kenneth Randall Harrison of Waynesville, N.C.; a daughter, Sandra (David) Black of Cmabridge; two grandchildren, Angie Black of Cambridge and Scott (Cara) Black of Pataskala. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Terry Tate officiating. Burial will be in the Northwood Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be sent to Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Ctr., Activity Dept., Popcorn Fund, 1471 Wills Creek Drive, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
