Shirley Ann Pavlik

Shirley Ann Pavlik, 83, formerly of Monroe, Michigan and Cambridge, Ohio, died Tuesday (July 22, 2008) at the Genesis Health & Rehabilitation Center in McConnelsville. She was born on October 31, 1924 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Thomas Harold Hammond and Madge (Morris) Hammond Stahl. She married Andrew Pavlik on October 31, 1942. Mrs. Pavlik was a former employee of RCA of Cambridge. She also worked at Mercy Hospital in both Monroe, Michigan and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. Pavlik was a sorority mother at Michigan State for Phi Mu and also at The Ohio State University for Delta Delta Delta. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and reading cookbooks, gardening and fishing. She was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, who died in 1972; a daughter, Carolyn S. Esch; and three sisters, Pat Weaver, Vivian Riddle and Carol Graham. She leaves a son, Chris (& Pam) Pavlik of Wadsworth; a daughter, Andrea (& Joe) Fix of Charlotte MI; two brothers, Jon Hammond and Tom Hammond both of Cambridge; seven grandchildren, Heather (& Brad) Kalista of Westerville, Holly Nichols of Fairfield CA, Chad (& Amber) Fix of Chicago IL, Bryan (& Deb) Fix of Grand Rapids MI, Brad Pavlik of Wadsworth, Nick Pavlik of Wadsworth and Chrissy Pavlik of Wadsworth; and five great-grandchildren, Kerstin Fix of Grand Rapids MI, Andrew Kalista of Westerville, Morgan Kalista of Westerville, Marin Kalista of Westerville and Mitchell Fix of Chicago IL. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (July 29, 2008) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Parsons officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
