Shirley Ann Smalley

Shirley Ann Smalley, 65, of Cambridge, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday (February 11, 2014) at Kindred Nursing & Rehabilitation - Cambridge, surrounded by her family. She was born August 10, 1948 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Joseph Edward McHenry and Virginia (Wolfe) McHenry. Shirley was a homemaker, but had also worked many years in the health care industry as a health care aide. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She helped raise her younger sisters and brothers and was often the person they went to when needing advice. Shirley was a loving person to all who met her and will be sadly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jo Graham; and two brothers, Joseph Edward McHenry Jr. and Ernie "Buck" McHenry. She is survived by three sons, Sam Smalley, Mike Smalley, and Jeff (& Sara) Smalley all of Cambridge; a daughter, Ashley Graham of Cambridge; a brother, Harry McHenry of Cambridge; five sisters, Rose Mann of Las Vegas NV, Annie Calvert (& Jeff Dunbar) of Cambridge, Barb Hudson (& Roy Hardy) of Cambridge, Susan Lloyd of Columbus, and Maggie (& Randle) Money of Cambridge; ten grandchildren; her companion of several years, Clifford Graham; many nieces and nephews; and her friend & caregiver, Heather Whiting. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (February 18, 2014) at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
