Solomon E. "Junior" Christman Jr., 91, of Quaker City, died Thursday (May 12, 2016) at The Astoria Place of Barnesville. He was born June 22, 1924 in Quaker City, son of the late Solomon E. Christman Sr. and Viola Marie (Bentz) Christman. Mr. Christman was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Guernsey County Farm Bureau. He was Methodist by faith. Mr. Christman was a 1942 graduate of Quaker City High School. He is survived by a sister, Catherine Yockey of Quaker City; two nephews, Bill (& Sandy) Yockey and Bob (& Karen) Yockey; two great-nephews, Todd Yockey and Roger (& Kari) Yockey; and seven great-nieces, Rhonda (& Todd) Tisko, Tammy Cesear, Rachel (& Dave) Warehime, Maria Cesear, Kaylynn Yockey, Avari Yockey, and Natalie Chumney. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Sunday (May 15, 2016) at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
