Sophia Kahn

Sophia "Sophie" Kahn, 91, of Cambridge passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Astoria Place of Cambridge.

Sophie was born September 30, 1932, in Buffalo, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Blanche (Olsheska) Lonca.

She was line worker for Ekco Housewares in Byesville, making steel tableware for approximately thirty years. Subsequently, she was a manager at Wendy's in Cambridge. She adored her Dachshunds, Smokey, Smokey2, and Troubles. She and her husband, Norman, enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and watching sports. They were fans of The OSU Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband, Norman Kahn whom she married on August 31, 1975, and who passed December 31, 2019; sisters, Victoria Sokol, Mary Fairhurst, Helen Evans and her brothers, Victor Lonca, Alex Lonca, Stanley Lonca, and John Lonca.

Left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 1:00pm at Beth Abraham Cemetery in Zanesville.
