"Our loving mother, Stella E. Koval, 86, of Cambridge, went to be with our dad" on Saturday (July 4, 2009) at her home. She was born March 7, 1923, in Duquesne PA, the daughter of the late Leo Termin and Anna Ciemnolonski. She was a retired cook for Guernsey Memorial Hospital, Cambridge. Mrs. Koval was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church, Catholic Women's Club and Guernsey County Senior Center. Her husband, Joseph A. Koval Jr., passed away October 10, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Tom Finnegan. Survivors include three sons, Joseph (Vicki) Koval of Pickerington, Robert (Mary) Koval of Newark and Thomas (Beverly) Koval of Cambridge; three daughters, Sallie Finnegan of Grove City, Mary Anne (Kirk) Wolverton of Cambridge and Juli (Todd) DiFolco of Grove City; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where a Wake service will be Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (July 7, 2009) at 10 a.m. at the St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Father Robert Borer will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Byesville, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedict's School.
