Stephen D. Hall, 68, of Salesville, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at SEORMC.
He was born August 24, 1954, in Cambridge, son of the late Cecil L. and Mary Frances (Thompson) Hall.
A graduate of Zane Trace High School, Mr. Hall served 20 years in the US Navy and retired as a Senior Chief. He also retired from Lingo's Hardware after twenty-five years as a technician.
He was a Boy Scout Scoutmaster in Quaker City and a VFW Post Commander in Quaker City for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Tina Secrest.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna L. (Simmons) Hall, whom he married August 6, 1980; a son, Jeremy (& Jessie) Hall of Salesville; two daughters, Terri Jean (& Dan) Nielsen of Clemmons NC and Kimberly (& Ben) Zilka of Cambridge; two sisters, Vickie Snider of Edgewater FL, and Teresa McBride of Salesville; twelve grandchildren, Payton, Ella, Easton, Leah,
Leslie, Landon, Kayci, Ammon, Megan, Alex, Ephraim, and Sadie, and three great grandchildren.
Steve loved spending time with family, whether watching grandchildren play sports, or throwing darts and playing cornhole in the garage. If not there you could always find him in his garden or woodworking in his shop.
Calling hours will be Sunday 6-8 PM, November 6, 2022, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City, with a funeral service on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 1 PM. Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh will be officiating, as well as Military Honors by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
In lieu of flowers the Steve Hall Memorial Account has been set up for any contributions at the Citizens National Bank in Quaker City for Local 4H Clubs and the Quaker City Festival.
