**Graveside services will be held on Friday (September 19, 2008) at 10:00 a.m. at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.** Stephen J. (Pete) Hazinakis, 64, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (September 10, 2008) at the Oak Pointe Care Center, Baltic. He was born on January 21, 1944 in Cambridge, son of the late Gus John Hazinakis and Dessie Bailey Hazinakis. Mr. Hazinakis retired in 1975 from Delta States Oil, where he had worked as a chain hand. He was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Micheal and Stevie; a daughter, Holly; and a great-granddaughter, Malaia Francis. He leaves his wife, Marlene (Funk) Hazinakis, whom he married on July 10, 1963; two sons, John Hazinakis and Brian Hazinakis both of Cambridge; two daughters, Kiria (Robert) Griffith of Martins Ferry and Tina (Steven) Ford of Cambridge; a sister, Jacqueline (Sue) Eiden of Cambridge; a brother, Gus (Connie) Hazinakis of Byesville; eleven grandchildren, Dustin Fannin, Chelsea Griffith, Ashley Griffith, Stephen Ford, Tyler Ford, Nick Ford, Amber Hazinakis, Heather Hazinakis, Brittany Hazinakis, Chassalli John and Stephen Hazinakis; and several nieces, nephews & very close friends. Family and friends may call on Friday (September 12, 2008) from 2 to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, at a later date.
