Ted A. German, 84, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday (Nov. 16, 2012) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Pleasant City, son to the late Rev. Andrew and Susan (Gecy) German. Mr. German was a 1946 graduate of Pleasant City High School. He was formerly employed at Douglas Market in Buffalo and went on to work at Bob Evans Farms as divisional manager in Xenia, Detroit and Chicago. Upon returning to Cambridge, he established Mr. G's Carryout, which he operated from 1971 to 2000. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zanesville. He and his wife June enjoyed spending the winter in Florida for many years, where Ted spent his time fishing. He is survived by his wife, June (Wargo) German, whom he married Oct. 19, 1952; three sons, David and Dee Dee German of Cambridge, Mark and Sue German of Fort Wayne Ind., and Thomas German of Cambridge; two sisters, Ruth Milan of East Chicago, Ind., and Lydia Hammond of Lancaster; two brothers, Dan and Shirley German and Paul German, both of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be today (Sunday) from 2 to 6 p.m. with funeral services Monday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, with the Rev. Mark Matzke officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery. Family request donations be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 South Seventh St., Zanesville, OH 43701.
