Terry L. Hlad, age 58, beloved dad, papaw and best friend, passed away Thursday (October 27, 2016) at his home surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born February 18, 1958 in Cambridge and was the son of the late George Hlad and Mary Louise (Erbes) Whitis of New Concord. Terry was a well known businessman in the area having started E-Z Flo Painting, Inc. 30 years ago. He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to Jamaica and especially spending time with his family. He lived his life for his children and generously put others first. His strength, will, and guidance will always be a source of inspiration and love for his family. He was Catholic by faith and a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Byesville. In addition to his mother he is survived by four sons, Josh (Lillie) Hlad of Cambridge, Zach (Erin) Hlad of Zanesville, Jake and Nic Hlad of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Walker, Wilder, and Callie of Cambridge, Noah and Nallah of Zanesville; two brothers, Mike Hlad of Wisconsin and Rob Hlad of Columbus; one half sister Janet of New Concord; several nieces and nephews; Godmother, Josephine Zombek of Columbus; long-time friend John Bugher of Cambridge; special friends and grandparents to his children, Marilyn and Chris McCormick of Cambridge. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (October 31, 2016) with Fr. Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be on the Hlad family farm.
