Terry F. Morgan, 75, of Quaker City, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at OSU Hospitals, Columbus, Ohio. Born May 28, 1938, he was a son of the late Frank and Ruth (Stubbs) Morgan of Quaker City, and was preceded in death by an infant brother. Mr. Morgan graduated from Quaker City School, Class of 1956, and later from Muskingum College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He was a teacher in Batesville, Londonderry, and a longtime teacher for Barnesville Schools, from which he retired in 1993. He also enjoyed working at Seneca Lake Park, and Salt Fork State Park as a summer campground attendant for many years. Mr. Morgan enjoyed serving the community throughout his life as a Boy Scout Leader of Quaker City Troop 570, a member of the Quaker City Volunteer Fire Department, and member of Quaker City Village Council for many years. He enjoyed bowling on a team, was an avid camper, backpacker, and traveler in all but three of the United States with stops in Canada and across the border in Mexico. He was a member of Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church and had many like-minded friends whom he loved there. Terry is survived by his wife, Janet Frame Morgan, of Quaker City and three daughters, Brenda (Sean) Leary of Powell, Ohio; Christy (David) Noeth of University Heights, Ohio; and Diana (Bill) Harwood of Cedar Falls, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Kate, Jonah, and Emma Leary; Jessica and Matthew Noeth; Amanda, Seth, and Nathaniel Harwood. He is also survived by a few aunts and uncles, several cousins, nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and many friends. Calling hours will be held at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City on Friday, December 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Pastor Tom Matus will officiate at the funeral service on Saturday at noon. Burial in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
