Thelma I. Ellwood

Thelma I. Ellwood, 86, formerly of Dewey Avenue, Cambridge, passed away Friday (October 13, 2006) at Victorian Oaks of Cambridge. She was born April 2, 1920 in Coshocton County OH, daughter of the late Edna (Hoffman) Swigert and Bernard E. Swigert, who died at the age of 103. Mrs. Ellwood worked with her husband, Lester, operating Ellwood Orchards for many years. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce, Special Service at the Census Bureau. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Ellwood, who passed away on February 15, 1987. They were married on June 24, 1942. She leaves a brother, Harold (& Kathleen) Swigert of Newcomerstown; special friends, Rick and Sheila Casterline, along with their sons, J.W. and Tom, all of Old Washington; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday (October 21, 2006) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Fairchild and Rev. Oscar Brown officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made to: (1) Hospice of Guernsey, Inc., P.O.
