Thelma Sickles, 92, formerly of Cambridge, died Sunday (April 23, 2017) at the Beckett House at New Concord. She was born May 18, 1924 in Londonderry Township/Guernsey County, daughter of the late Roy Horr and Wilma (Thomas) Horr. Mrs. Sickles retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital and later worked as a hairdresser at Garrett's. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Lyons; her second husband, William Sickles; a brother, Raymond Horr; a son, Kenneth M. Lyons; and a daughter, Judith Williams. She is survived by a son, Don (& Vickie) Lyons of Cambridge; seven grandchildren, Kevin Ray (& Sandy) Wimer, Todd (& Kathy) Lyons, Traci (& Geno) Ford, Terri (& Dan) Sestina, Shelley (& Todd) Haney, Susan (& Donald) Pratt, and Michael (& Janet) Lyons; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Lyons of Los Alamos NM. Visitation will be held Wednesday (April 26, 2017) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Sturman Moore and Pastor Mark Slay officiating. Burial will be at Center Cemetery.
