Thelma Jane Wilson

February 27, 1918 — June 30, 2010

Thelma Jane Wilson, 92, of Cambridge, peacefully entered into the Kingdom of Heaven surrounded by her son and daughter on Wednesday (June 30, 2010). She was born February 27, 1918 in Cambridge, daughter of the late James Thomas Dawson and Nellie (Leeper) Dawson. She married Charles L. Wilson in August of 1941. Mrs. Wilson worked as a cashier at the former Bargain City Department Store/Rink's for fourteen years. She was a member for many years of the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge and also a member of the Naomi Ruth Sunday school class. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed talking to people and playing bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, who died in 1977; two brothers, Charles and Richard Dawson; and a sister, Martha Dawson. She is survived by a son, James Wilson of Cambridge; a daughter, Martha Wilson of Cambridge; a special family member, John Baird of Zanesville; several nieces & nephews; and many friends from the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (July 6, 2010) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with Dr. Alan Bevere officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. "Her children shall stand and bless her, her husband praises her." Proverbs 31:28 As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Thelma's name to one of the following organizations: 1) Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund, 1471 Wills Creek Valley Dr, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) First United Methodist Church, 641 Steubenville Ave, Cambridge OH 43725.
