Thomas E. Scott, 69, of Cambridge, died Sunday (August 14, 2016) at his home. He was born July 13, 1947 in Cambridge, son of the late Freeman Scott and Vertine (Loach) Scott. Mr. Scott was a self-employed electrician and had also worked previously at Ecko of Byesville. He was a graduate of Cambridge High School. He was an avid military historian throughout his lifetime and a member of the DAV, VFW Post 2901, and Eagles Aerie 386 all of Cambridge. Mr. Scott was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by a daughter, Heather (& William) Bates of Cambridge; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Scott; three grandchildren, Trevor Israel, Bricen Bates, and Brendan Bates; and a nephew, Brandon Scott. No calling hours will be observed. Private graveside services and burial will be held at Northwood Cemetery, at a later date, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
