Thomas L. Tribbie

Thomas Leyshon Tribbie, 91, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (December 19, 2017) at his home.
He was born December 17, 1926 in Cambridge, son of the late Earl Henderson Tribbie and Alpha (Leyshon) Tribbie.
He married Marjorie Katheryne (Caldwell) on August 8, 1954.
Mr. Tribbie was an attorney for many years. He officially retired in 2011 at the age of 85, but still continued to practice occasionally after retirement. He was the owner of Tribbie, Scott, Plummer Law Firm for many years.
He was a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Law/Moritz College of Law.
Mr. Tribbie was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church of Cambridge.
Included in his many memberships were his involvement in the Scottish Rite, Muskingum Watershed, SEORMC Board, Elks, VFW, Kiwanis, Shriners and the Cambridge Country Club.
Mr. Tribbie was a US Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanne Hoyt; a son-in-law, Robert Matheson; two brothers-in-law, Robert Hoyt and John T. Daniels; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Tribbie; his children, Melinda Matheson, Debbie (Mark) Braune, Steve (Pam) Tribbie, and Terri (Troy) Slack; his grandchildren, Jaime (Nick) Nelson, Robert Matheson, Andy Braune, Kaala (Jake) Powers, Thomas Matheson, Aric Braune, Barton Engstrom, Clayton Engstrom, Dylan Tribbie, Oliver Tribbie and Merina Tribbie; his great-grandchildren, Hadley Nelson and Trigg Powers; a sister, Elizabeth Daniels; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Tuesday (December 26, 2017) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
Additional visitation will be Wednesday (December 27, 2017) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Unity Presbyterian Church, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Bergeson officiating.
Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations that were very important to Mr. Tribbie: 1) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge, OH 43725; 2) Unity Presbyterian Church, 130 N. Pike, Norwich, OH 43767.
