Thurman "Butch" E. Valentine

Thurman E. "Butch" Valentine, 77, of Cambridge, passed away unexpectedly Friday May 18, 2018 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born Oct. 12, 1940 in Cambridge, the son of the late Russell Valentine, and Garnet (Lashley) Giesey. Butch retired from TW Metals after several years of service. He attended Cambridge schools, was a member of the Cambridge Eagles 386, Moose 631, and VFW 2901. Butch enjoyed playing cards with his Euchre buddies, and loved his time spent with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Valentine; and a grandson, Timmy Valentine. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Merri Jeanne (Keith) Valentine, whom he married Sept. 8, 1959; two sons, Tom Valentine, and Tim Valentine, both of Cambridge; two daughters, Teri Henthorne, and Traci (Jeff) Tonero, both of Cambridge; two brothers, Don (Myrna) Valentine, Senecaville, and John Valentine, Cambridge; two sisters, Janice (Dick) Berger and Sharon (Bill) Stashonsky, both of Cambridge, 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron, Zach, Brooke, Ryan, Tyler, Lindsay, Courtney, Jennifer, and Taylor, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday (May 22, 2018) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (May 23, 2018) at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
