Tina Marie Kiser, 45, of Cambridge, ended her battle with cancer surrounded by her family on Sunday (December 7, 2008) at her home. She was born January 4, 1963 in Shelby, daughter of Virgil Joseph and Carla Jean (Thompson) Phillips of Shelby. Mrs. Kiser was sales account executive for Qwest Communications and recently the Hampton Inn , a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and a 1981 graduate of Shelby High School. She was a former past president for Cambridge Kiwanis, former board member of Colorectal Cancer Task Force, also Guernsey County 2008 Volunteer of the Year for the American Cancer Society, and a national advocate with the C3 coalition. Preceding her in death were grandparents, Florentine & Edith Phillips, Clara Hanson, father-in-law, Gerald Kiser, cousins, Rhonda Wilson and Glenn Phillips. Tina's love for life, family, and friends was endless. She loved to travel, shop, spend time at the beach, and cook for friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Rodney A. Kiser whom she married January 26, 1990; daughter, Terra (Brad) Edris of Yorktown, VA.; son, Derek Kiser of the home; step-daughter, Angela (Jason) McAtee of Lewis Center; step-son, Ryan Kiser of Westerville; brother, Todd (Jennifer) Phillips of Knoxville, TN.; sisters, Theresa (Jeff) Wallace of Shelby and Tracy (Ben) Patrick of Yorktown, VA.; brother-in-law, Phil (Debbie) Kiser of Washington C.H.; sister-in-law, Cheryl Kiser of Torrence Ca.; grandfather, Virgil (Francine) Thompson of Rapid City S.D.; six step granddaughters, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends and mother-in-law JoAnn Kiser of Shelby. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge with wake services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with mass will be on Thursday 10 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Fr. Chester Pabin officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
