Tina Louise (Saber) Pantaleo, 50, of Pleasant City, died Monday (October 17, 2011) at her home. She was born July 30, 1961 in Zanesville, daughter of the late Albert Saber and Virginia (Hardman) Meadows. Ms. Pantaleo was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Persian Gulf War. She earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer and served as a Corpsman. She was stationed on the USS Harry S. Truman during the Iraq War, the USS Emory S. Land, and the USS Hunley. She made naval history as the first female radiation health technician. She saved many lives as a substance abuse counselor. Ms. Pantaleo was a 1979 graduate of Kyger Creek High School. She is survived by a daughter, Katherine Allyn Pantaleo of Norfolk VA; a brother, Mike Saber of Jewett; two sisters, Gala (& Ray) Brooks of Melrose Park IL and Lee (& Stan) Kafury of Kimbolton; a special friend, Jim Pantaleo of Chesapeake VA; and many nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday (October 22, 2011) from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with services beginning at 12:45 p.m. with Katherine Pantaleo officiating. Military services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
