Vera Mae Gill

Vera Mae Gill, 93, of The Oaks in Pataskala, Ohio, passed away Friday (June 15, 2007) at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio. She was born on March 13, 1914 in Noble County, the daughter of the late Everett and Nellie (Kuntz) Bamfield. Mrs. Gill was a resident of Cambridge, where she raised her family before moving to Cincinnati and Sarasota, Florida. She then returned to Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gill, who passed away in 1974 and whom she married in June of 1932; a sister, Opal Coville; three brothers, Virgil, Reed and Duane Bamfield; a daughter, Delores Knight; a son, Larry Gill; and great-grandchildren, Brad Choma and Sheri Bamfield. She is survived by a brother, Everett (Helen) Bamfield Jr.; a sister-in-law, Margaret "Mag" Bamfield; a daughter, Janice (William) Lenhart; a son, Eddie Gill; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Gill; four grandchildren, Bridget (Dana) Bamfield, Susan (William) Parker, Lee (Mary) Gill and Brian Knight; eleven great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Tuesday (June 19, 2007) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark OH 43055.
