Vernon Gene Casterline

Vernon Gene Casterline, 76, of Cambridge, died Thursday (June 11, 2020) at Licking Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 16, 1943 in Cambridge, son of the late Harry V. and Ada L. Casterline.

Mr. Casterline was a self-employed carpenter. He loved spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zelda Elizabeth "Cookie" (Tingle) Casterline, who died February 3, 2015; a son, Gary David Casterline; a sister, Linda Fay Ely; and a half-sister, Bonnie Jirles

He is survived by three sons, Michael Shawn Casterline of Byesville, Kevin Gene (Wendy) Casterline of Pataskala, and David Allen Casterline of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Jordan, Brent, Sydney, and Owen; a nephew, Walter Ely of Barnesville; and a niece, Cathy Tingle of Fayetteville NC.

No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services and burial will be held at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, on Wednesday (June 17, 2020) at 12 p.m. Those attending are asked to observe current social distancing guidelines and wear a face covering, if possible.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd SE, Newark OH 43055.
