Vernon A. Kerr

Vernon A. Kerr, 86, of Massillon, died Monday (April 16, 2018) at St. Luke's of Canton. He was born August 5, 1931 in Winterset, son of the late Arthur L. Kerr and Ildreth (Reed) Kerr. Mr. Kerr retired after forty-five years with Canton Malleable Iron where he had worked as a set-up die setter. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and fitness activities. He was a US Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Richard Kerr. He is survived by a son, Glenn Kerr of Uniontown; a daughter, Kathy Ann Veasey of North Canton; four brothers, Donald Kerr of Cambridge, Lloyd (& Deanna) Kerr of Dover, Kenneth Kerr of Cambridge, and Roland Kerr of Ocala FL; two sisters, Juanita Thornton of Canal Winchester and Phyllis Blake of Morningside MD; and four grandchildren, Tammy (Veasey) Flowers, Eric Veasey, Erika Kerr, and Lindsey Kerr. As per Vernon's wishes, no services will be held. Following cremation, burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
