Victor D. Harding Sr., 93, of Salesville, died Sunday (April 17, 2016) at Countryview Assisted Living Center, Lore City. He was born August 14, 1922 in Senecaville, son of the late Kennon Harding and Alma (Montgomery) Harding. Mr. Harding worked for the B&O railroad as a crane operator and retired after thirty-five years of service. He loved farming and also loved playing with his great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Salesville Church of Faith for over fifty years. Mr. Harding was a US Army veteran, having served during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Allman) Harding, whom he married September 25, 1948; four sons, Victor Harding Jr. of Salesville, Jack (Debbie) Harding of Quaker City, Jay Harding of Cambridge, and Jerry (Pete) Harding of Caldwell; two daughters, Jill (Dave) Brill of Cambridge and Joy Edwards of Lore City; a brother, Phillip (Mary) Harding of Caldwell; two sisters, Wanda Roe of Bucyrus and Romain Forbes of Senecaville; ten grandchildren, Shawna, Erin, Nikki, Justin, Josh, JR, Tom, Kenny, Paige, and Tanner; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Fred (Sandy) Allman of Canton; and several nieces & nephews. No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Salesville Church of Faith, 119 Locust Street, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
