Victor A. Rowe, 71, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (November 12, 2019) at his home.
He was born October 14, 1948 in Cambridge, son of the late Willard C. Rowe and Catherine (Henry) Rowe.
A 1966 graduate of Madison High School, Mr. Rowe retired from Century Bank. He had many other jobs including selling suits at the former Robert's Men's Shop, selling cars at the former LaMarca's and the former Clewell's, and selling insurance for Prudential.
He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved playing sports and enjoyed coaching Little League basketball & baseball. He was a former member of the Lions Club.
Mr. Rowe was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for his service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved golden retriever, Sammie.
He is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Goetz) Rowe; two sons, Chad Rowe (& T'Wana Wheatley) of Kimbolton and Cory (& Mallory) Rowe of Raleigh NC; a daughter, Kimberly (& Courtney) Black of New Concord; seven grandchildren, Chris (& Meagan) Rowe, Alexis (& Reese) Lashley, Haley Rowe, Caiden Black, Karson Black, Sophie Rowe, and Evan Rowe; many close friends; and his golden-doodle, Charlie.
Visitation will be held Friday (November 15, 2019) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Saturday (November 16, 2019) at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to any local youth sports organization of the donor's choice.
