Violet Amos, 84, of Fresno, died Monday (December 27, 2010) at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 14, 1926 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Carl Ralph VanDyne and Mary E. (Ford) VanDyne. Mrs. Amos was a retired nurse's aide for several nursing homes. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Sickles; and her second husband, John Amos. She is survived by a son, Roger (& Darla) Sickles of Fresno; a daughter, Mary (& Larry) Owens of Pittsburgh TX; six grandchildren, Rebecca Clark of Coshocton, Amanda (& William) Parks of Fresno, Roger J. Sickles of Coshocton, Matthew Sickles of Barnesville, James (& Jean) McIntire of Pittsburgh TX, and Sara McIntire of Pittsburgh TX; and six great-grandchildren, Harley, Joanna, Austin, Darren, Aurora, and Eris. No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time. Burial at Center Cemetery will take place at a later date.
