Violet L. Gatrell

Violet L. Gatrell, 77, of Kimbolton, died Sunday (July 6, 2014) at her home. She was born September 3, 1936 in Cambridge, daughter of the late John Wolfe and Edna (Hill) Wolfe. Mrs. Gatrell had worked at Champion Spark Plug for many years and she was also a homemaker. She liked working crossword puzzles and loved her dog, Sam. Mrs. Gatrell was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Hayes; three brothers; five sisters; and a grandson, Jed. She is survived by her husband, Jerry R. Gatrell; two sons, Robert "Bob" (& Ruth Ann) Kirkman of Bergholz and John Kirkman of Cambridge; two stepsons, Mike (& Lisa) Gatrell of Fort Wayne IN and Kevin Gatrell of New Concord; a stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Gatrell of Cambridge; two brothers, Russell Wolfe of Cambridge and Roy Wolfe of Byesville; two sisters, Wilma Ross and Gladys Harper both of Cambridge; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday (July 10, 2014) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Alan Jefferies officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
