Violet J. Savage Mayle

June 8, 1931 — March 16, 2011

Violet J. Savage Mayle, 79, of Cambridge, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday (March 16, 2011) at the Willowhaven Care Center, Zanesville. She was born June 8, 1931 in New Lexington, daughter of the late Harvey O. Sorrell and Florence I. (Gross) Sorrell Heath. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Four-Square Gospel Church of Cambridge. She was very active in the church, teaching Sunday school and also singing. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wallace Savage; her second husband, Paul David Mayle; and a son, Tony Savage. She is survived by five sons, Robert Michael Savage of Lutz FL, David (& Peggy) Savage of Lancaster, Wally (& Kim) Savage of Butler, Keith Savage of Marion, and Jeffrey Savage of Cambridge; three daughters, Debbie (& Rich) Jackson of Zanesville, Linda Taylor of Zephyrhills FL, and April Savage of New Concord; five brothers, Samuel Sorrell, Harvey (& Thelma) Sorrell, Paul (& Joan) Sorrell, Robert P. Hessell, and Robert Heath; six sisters, Betty Craig, Dorothy "Marie" Hanning, Marjorie (& George) Hanning, Janet Womack, Joyce (& Sam) Lovejoy, and Rosie (& Mike) Bobb; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Monday (March 21, 2011) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Cain officiating.
