(William) Virgil Tedrick, 90, formerly of Birmingham, died Sunday (August 2, 2009) at the Country View Assisted Living Center. He was born January 27, 1919 in Birmingham, son of the late William F. Tedrick and Millie (McNeely) Tedrick. Mr. Tedrick retired in 1983 after thirty-eight years in the timber industry. He attended Madison High School. He was a member of the Clearfork Baptist Church and a member of the Fifty Plus Church Group. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He enjoyed coon hunting and playing the banjo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances I. (Dean) Tedrick, who died September 3, 2006. They were married on September 10, 1947. Also deceased are five sisters, Rozeltha Beal, Wilma Davidson, Freda Litman and Annetta Mathews; and a brother, Lloyd Tedrick. He is survived by a sister, Geneva Anderson of Sun City FL; a sister-in-law, Anna Louise Barr of Senecaville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Visitation will also be held on Thursday (August 6, 2009) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Clearfork Baptist Church, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Craig Murray officiating. Burial will be at Clearfork Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
