Virginia Mae Barlow, 98, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (July 23, 2014) at the Beckett House at New Concord. She was born August 15, 1915 in Noble County, daughter of the late Menzy Theo Vance and Laura (Cummings) Vance. Mrs. Barlow retired from the Frisbee Motel where she had worked in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Barlow was Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Barlow, who died November 10, 1975; a son, Ralph V. Barlow; a sister, Martha E. Miller; an infant sister; and a granddaughter, Michelle Davis. She is survived by two sons, Roy L. (& Dixie) Barlow of Cambridge and Robert "Bob" W. Barlow of Cambridge; a sister, Verna I. Breeden of Massillon; four grandchildren, Michael (& Carol) Barlow, Clarence Edward (& Pam) Barlow, David (& Dixie) Barlow, and Billy (& Crystal) Barlow; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Davis, Jillian Davis, Ryan Davis, and David Barlow Jr.; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 29, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve Leathley officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
