Virginia A. "Aunt Ginny" Carter, 93, of Senecaville, passed away Sunday (December 16, 2007) at her home. She was born on June 19, 1914 in Paden City WV, daughter of the late Okey S. Slider and Laura (Eddy) Slider. Mrs. Carter was the former owner of Ginny's Place on County Home Road and Deep Cut Tavern. She also worked at the Central Restaurant in Cambridge. She was a member of the 10th & Clairmont Church of Christ in Cambridge. Mrs. Carter loved kids, animals and helping others. She was an avid fan of 1940's music. She was a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the Women of the Moose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Lou; two brothers, Raymond and Charles; and two sisters, Edna and Charlotte. She leaves four nieces, Shirley Malinak of Senecaville, Betty Bates of Summerfield, Virginia Potts of Summerfield and Darlene (Terry) Stafford of Lore City; three nephews, Harry (Pat) McClements of Senecaville, Jack (Moe) McClements of Senecaville and Joe (Debbie) McClements of Lore City; and several great-nieces & great-nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Wednesday (December 19, 2007) at 1 p.m. with Evang. Bruce Daugherty officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
