Virginia Eileen (Howell) Bennett, 97, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her home.
She was born to Ernest S Howell Sr and Mildred R. (Cross) Howell, March 31, 1927, in Barnesville, OH.
She was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Bennett worked at RCA and NCR, where she had worked on the assembly line. She retired from NCR in 1992.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2901 and the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy William Bennett Sr., whom she married December 1, 1946, and who passed August 11, 1997; her two sons, Jerry and Bob; one grandson, Jerry Allen Bennett; one sister; and four brothers.
She is survived by two sons, Bill (& Dixie) of Beaverton OR, and Mike of Cambridge; two daughters, Linda L. Bennett and Pamela (& Kevin) Olden, both of Cambridge; a brother, William (& Laura) Howell of Canton; thirteen grandchildren, Bill (& Chelle), Tim (& Stephanie) Bennett of Oregon, Twila (& Bob) Hewison of Pleasant City, Robin Bennett of Lore City; Bob Bennett Jr of Old Washington, Debbie (& Larry) Conley of North Carolina, Jeri Sue (Rodney) Carrier of North Carolina, Bobby Joe Shuman of Columbus, Desirea (& Justin) Bailey of Cambridge, Shawn (& Lyndsey) Anker of Grove City, Shannon (Shawn) Weaver of Byesville, Rob (& Hope) Olden of Cambridge and Jenna (& Ryan) Saling of Zanesville; and twenty-four great-grandchildren and six great- great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home, Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. VFW Auxiliary services will be held at 12:30 PM. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
