Virginia C. (Lucas) DeLaney, 95, of Cambridge, made her heavenly flight on Friday (March 4, 2016) to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born March 3, 1921, in Indian Camp, daughter of the late Donald A. and Susan E. (DeLaney) Lucas. She graduated from Cambridge High School. She proudly served her country during World War II. She flew above all obstacles; she only saw possibilities. She lived her life on the positive sunnyside. Cherishing her memory are her seven children, Jerry (Monica) Koonce of Westport, Tenn., Virginia L. DeLaney of Cambridge, Elizabeth DeLaney of Zanesville, Deborah (Dan) Brill of Kimbolton, Rebecca (Dave) Seibel of Port Angeles, Wash., Susan (Martin) Ramsey of Johnson City, Tenn., and Cauble Daniels of Port Angeles, Wash.; 21 grandchildren, Shane, Bridgette, Michael, Brandon, Sasha, Nick, Jacinta, Doug, Sarah, Jarrod, Tim, Heidi, Renno, Chris, Cindy, Cassi, Cauble Jr., Conrad, Cody, Keiara and Carrington; and 40 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Cornelius; and five brothers, Paul, Robert, Donald Jr., Wilbur and George Lucas. Visitation will be Wednesday (March 9, 2016) from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Pastor Burt Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks to staff of Cambridge Health and Rehab for their many years of loving care.
