Virginia May Wantz Unklesbay, 82, of Wilmington OH and formerly of Cambridge, died Thursday (November 1, 2007) at the Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. She was born on December 23, 1924 in Belle Valley, daughter of the late James Rose and Martha (Cazzell) Rose. Mrs. Wantz Unklesbay was a bookkeeper for thirty-two years in Nutritional Services (Dietary Department) for the Guernsey Memorial Hospital. She also served as a supervisor for that department. She was a 1942 graduate of Cambridge High School. She was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church of Cambridge and the Wilmington Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Church Women United and taught Sunday School for both adults & children. Mrs. Wantz Unklesbay served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed writing poetry. She made many close friends in Wilmington OH, Phoenix AZ, Sierra Vista AZ and Cambridge OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Wantz, who died in 1979; her second husband, Jack E. Unklesbay, who died in 2005; two brothers; and two sisters. She leaves a son, David L. (& Anita) Wantz of Wilmington OH; a daughter, Ruth (& Jerry) Trott of Dublin OH; two step-sons, James F. (& Laura) Wantz of Laguna Beach CA and Rick (& Margie) Unklesbay of Tucson AZ; two step-daughters, Beth Unklesbay of Arlington VA and Suellen (& Larry) Dunlap of Maryville IL; a sister-in-law, Peg Basil of Peoria AZ; a brother-in-law, Harold Unklesbay of New Concord; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also on Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Funeral services will be held on Sunday (November 4, 2007) at 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Rev. Marty Radcliff officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.
