Wanda I. Foraker, 93, of Quaker City, passed away Friday (Aug. 9, 2013) at Kindred Health and Rehab Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 26, 1920, in Osage, Okla., daughter of the late Floyd and Odessa (Mobberly) Walters. Mrs. Foraker retired from RCA and NCR, having worked in the shipping department. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong member of the Quaker City Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aultman Victor Foraker, who died Dec. 31, 1994, and whom she married June 29, 1935; a sister, Ruby Stallings; three brothers, Harry, Elmer "Tug" and Richard Walters; a great-great- grandchild, Paxton Victoria Hazlett. She is survived by a son, Glenn (Rita) Foraker of Cambridge; a daughter, Shirley (Lanny) Neiswonger of Quaker City; eight grandchildren, Pat (Brenda) Foraker, Debbie Hicks and (Buddy), Mindy (Lloyd) Roe, Ron Foraker, Jason (Lauren) Foraker, Melanie Ryan and (Chuck Frazier), Lorina (Shawn) Tracy and Tim (Maria) Neiswonger; 22 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ngyet Walters, Delores Walters and Erma Ankrom; a brother-in-law, Virgil Foraker; an aunt, Ida Mae Bietzel; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday (August 13, 2013) with Evang. Dick Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions in Wanda's name be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Quaker City Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 326, Quaker City OH 43773.
