William B. "Bill" Orum, 76, of Quaker City, died Monday (May 16, 2016) at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling WV. He was born March 14, 1940 in Wheeling WV, son of the late Edward Orum and Josephine (Wilke) Orum. Mr. Orum retired from the Cambridge Psychiatric Hospital, where he had worked as a custodian. He had also worked at North American Coal and was a member of United Mine Workers. He enjoyed working with his hands and was well known as a "jack-of-all-trades". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Jim, and Kenneth Orum; two sisters, Virginia Chambers and Ethel Orum; and a grandson, Justin Secrest. He is survived by his wife, Vaunda (Swager) Orum, whom he married November 22, 1958; two sons, William Orum Jr. of Quaker City and Daren (& Bonnie) Orum of Quaker City; two daughters, Laura (& Joseph) Malinak of Quaker City and Rose Ragoli of Yorkville; four sisters, Betty Elder, Mary (& Dan) Brown, Charlene Pennington, and Lucille Crane all of Wheeling WV; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren especially Mason and Kierra Secrest; and several nieces and nephews including Ronald Williams of Quaker City, Hope Williams of Zanesville, and Christian Williams of Zanesville. Visitation will be held Saturday (May 21, 2016) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, at a later date.
