William "Bruce" B. Snyder

August 26, 1938 — July 17, 2016

William Bruce Snyder, 77, of Cambridge OH and formerly of Independence MO, passed away Sunday (July 17, 2016), at Astoria Place of Cambridge under the care of Hospice. Bruce was born August 26, 1938, in Charleston WV, to late George A. Snyder and the late Mary V. (Auberle) Snyder. The family moved to Parkersburg WV when Bruce was a young child. After his parents divorced, he lived in Belpre OH, where he attended and graduated from the Belpre school system. Bruce was selected for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and trained at Quantico VA. He worked in Washington D.C. as a laboratory aide for 3 1/2 years prior to serving 21 years in the US Air Force. He served with the Radar Bomb Scoring group in Missouri and North Dakota and after further training was sent to Thailand, England, Germany and Spain. Following his service years, he worked as an Electronic Performance Inspector at Allied Signal Inc.'s facility in Kansas City MO. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his only brother, Ray; and all his aunts and uncles. Bruce is survived by his son, Scott; his ex-wife, Sharon; his daughter-in-law, Glenda, and her children; and several cousins. Memorial visitation hours will be held Friday (July 22, 2016) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Dan Milburn officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. A private graveside service and interment of his cremains will be held at a later date at the Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg WV.
